Overview of the Software Validation Developer role at WDI

WDI designs, engineers and manufactures innovative microscopy automation solutions. Solutions include OEM components as well as complete optomechanical and optoelectronic sub-systems. Our products range from compact autofocus sensors and automated microscopy modules to end user IR imaging systems. WDI’s technology helps individuals and companies in a wide variety of industries including Life Science, Biomedical Imaging, Machine Vision and Electronics/Semiconductor Manufacturing. Our solutions are currently used by well know organizations such as Intel, Corning, Apple, Samsung and LG. All these products have embedded software and are driven by software applications that use software development kits.  The Software Verification Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring all new product software & firmware, including added features and bug fixes are extensively tested prior to being released.

Role and Responsibility

  • Develop automated test procedures using AutoIt, creating unit test modules using C/C++ or C# and other tools.
  • Create test case documents and test code based on the Software Application and Software Development Kit (SDK) manuals.
  • Create test case documents and test code based on JIRA bug reports and Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s).
  • Maintain test history and analyze weaknesses in code development processes.
  • Maintain and develop automatic regression testing tools.
  • Assist Software Developers with pre-release Software Testing.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Good with C/C++, C#, Visual Studio, .NET,

  • Good with AutoIT and/or Powershell, National Instruments Labwindows

  • Familiar with diagnostic tools: perfmon, regedit, event viewer,

  • Familiar with JIRA, Jenkins, Subversion

  • Familiar with Oracle or VM Ware Virtual Machines

  • Familiar with Software installation/uninstallation, system configuration

Required Qualifications

  • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in a technical/software discipline (Computer Science, Electronics, Math, Physics, etc.).
  • Software development experience.

About The Position

  • Annual Salary Range: $76,000 ~ $87,000
  • Position status: Newly Open
  • Work Model: Hybrid, Office-First
