WDI Gives Back

WDI Donates $50,000 to Daily Bread Food Bank

This year, WDI Wise Device Inc. wrote a $50,000 cheque to the Daily Bread Food Bank. But what really stands out isn’t just the amount but the fact is that they’ve done it before. This is the second time WDI has shown up for Daily Bread, and that kind of repeat commitment is what the community needs.

The Weiss family and WDI has always believed that building a successful business comes with a responsibility to the people around you. That belief hasn’t stayed tucked away in a mission statement. It’s shown up in real, tangible ways over the years. This donation is just the most recent example. Fifty thousand dollars toward making sure families in our community don’t go hungry.

Daily Bread Food Bank and their volunteers work tirelessly to help feed thousands of people across the region every year. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s necessary, and it doesn’t happen without the support of organizations willing to put their support behind it. WDI has now done that twice, and that says everything about the culture the Weiss family has built from the ground up. The philanthropy here isn’t performative. It’s personal. And if the past is any indication, it won’t stop here.

About WDI

WDI was founded in 2005 by Dr. Adam Weiss, a physicist with a passion for doing things differently. Based in Ontario, the company builds industrial microscopy equipment used in automated optical inspection, defect review, and laser micro-machining. But beyond the technology, WDI has always been a people-first company, one that runs on curiosity, precision, and a genuine belief that doing good work and doing good in the world aren’t mutually exclusive.
